SON EYEING FIRST LEAGUE GOAL

Tottenham Hotspur attacker Son Heung-Min is yet to get off the mark in the Premier League this season as he attempts to retain his Golden Boot award from last season. The South Korea national team skipper would be hoping to change things when his team do battle with hosts Chelsea in a London Derby league clash at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening.

South Korea international Son won the Golden Boot award in the Premier League last season with 23 goals alongside Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah. Salah led the Golden Boot race by one goal ahead of the final day of last season and the Egyptian was forced to share the award with the South Korea international after he scored twice in the 5-0 away win over Norwich City. Salah came off the bench to score in the 3-1 comeback home victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

For the new season, Tottenham Hotspur scored four goals in their opening game but Son didn’t score a single goal. This is a development which is surprising though he bagged an assist during the game. The talented Spurs attacking duo of Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane failed to find the back of the net as the Londoners came from behind to thrash Southampton 4-1 at home. England international James Ward-Prowse scored the first goal of the game in thecolours of the Saints before RyanSessegnon, Eric Dier, Mohammed Salisu (own goal) and DejanKulusevski scored for Spurs to overturn the deficit and seal a big win.

Tottenham Hotspur led the league at the end of the first weekas a result of the big win over the Saints and they would be hoping to build on this when they take on hosts Chelsea in a London Derby clash billed to take place at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
