SON OUT OF LEICESTER CITY CLASH

South Korea international Son Heung-Min will miss the Premier League clash at Leicester City on Thursday night after testing positive for Covid-19 last week. The South Korea football star is one of several Spurs players who will miss the game against the Foxes due to the aforementioned virus.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has had to deal with a Coronavirus outbreak at their training ground which prompted the closing down of the training ground for a few days. Spurs have had two games postponed due to the outbreak at their training ground. The matches against Rennes and Brighton & Hove Albion in the UEFA European Conference League and Premier League respectively were called off due to the outbreak.

Apart from South Korea attacker Son Heung-Min, other players that will also miss the Leicester City game due to Covid-19 include English midfielder Oliver Skipp, young striker Dane Scarlett and Brazilian national team player Lucas Moura. Spanish winger Bryan Gil and Brazilian fullback Emerson Royal have also had Covid-19 over the last one week, but they could feature in the team for the Leicester City game.

Leicester City are in a good place ahead of the Spurs game after the big win over Newcastle United who are in the bottom three places on the Premier League log. The Magpies are second from bottom with ten points from their 16 games and they are three points off safety on the league table. Newcastle United were on the receiving end of a 4-0 loss to Leicester City as they capitulated defensively in the second half of the game. The goalscorers for the Foxes were Youri Tielemans (two goals), James Maddison and Patson Daka. The league win over Newcastle United came on the back of the 2-1 league defeat at Aston Villa and their demotion from Europa League football to UEFA European Conference League football.
